How To Verify Your Email How To Prevent Fraud
Before attending to any email you have collected on social media, it is a good idea to verify the ownership. It is important to validate the authenticity of the social media account or the source from where you are collecting the news, video, or any other important information. Even when you want to recover passwords or register yourself online, the registrant is asked to validate the email address first. Besides, when you receive an email for subscriptions, registration, or verification, a certain due diligence to verify the source is prudent. Sometimes email verification is necessary for investigation reasons, such as tracing the spoofing source and phishing emails with IP records, or to analyze timestamps along the delivery route for legal reasons. Whatever the reason, as a researcher we are bound by the duty of due care for information exchange when emailing is the primary source.
