Public prosecution and police organizations are increasingly looking to improve how digital evidence is handled, while maintaining control over costs. The challenges regarding streamlining the entire end-toend process of gathering, documenting, using, archiving, and preserving digital evidence and assets are not trivial; nor is the insurance of long-term compliance with national and international regulations. Further, the increased use of digital assets (including social media uploads) and technologies (on-body cameras, etc.) in modern law enforcement will only add to this list of challenges, which must be dealt with moving forward.
