After a quick search on the web, I also came across some free and pay-per-use options. These might be useful for cases like these when the legal research is not done frequently. Some free options for legal search engines are,

Wex (Cornell Inst.) : www.law.cornell.edu/wex
LexisNexis has several plans based upon usage. www.lexisnexis.com/communities/

These are great suggestions Andonellove74, but the trouble is I think they are both paid options. If the use is one-time, or rare, it is hardly advisable to use these sources.

For legal research, it is best to use legal search engines rather than the regular search engines. They will solve your problem of retrieving irrelevant results. Another option is to look through legal databases such as Westlaw or Nexus. They are rich in content, and if you know what to look for, it's very easy to access information.
Good Luck! :)

The nature of my job requires me to do some regular research. Recently I have a case which needs me to do some legal research. The problem is I have no idea where to start. Google searches reveal too many results, most of them irrelevant. Can anyone give me some guidance please?
