Data collection online 07 Apr 2015 02:21 #164

Do you think I'll be able to get a reliable research outcome by conducting a survey online? Because I have heard that online surveys have several shortcomings.

I agree, but its just one aspect. Another aspect that I can tell you is the project limitations such as time availability and available budget will also influence your data collection.

Before starting data collection, you need to define your research topic. In other words, why you are doing the study or the purpose of your study because this will impact your data collection.

I’m planning to conduct a study on social media usage of young people. For this I’m planning to find participants online and get them to fill an online survey questionnaire. What factors do you think I should consider when planning my data collection?
